Claudine and I decided to go fishing at the same spot in Half Moon Bay but only at the rock wall near Pillar Point Harbor. Since we went on a Friday the spot was pretty empty and only a hand full of fisherman’s were there.
The tide was low and the sun was shining bright! I thank GOD for California weather because around this time of the year (February) in the east coast/mid west, it’s crazy snowing, cold and blizzards happening every week.
The first catch of the day was Cabezon (kept it)

… next was a Rainbow Perch (kept it)

… then Claudine snagged a Dungeness Crab and a Rock Crab <no photo> (kept both)

… last fish we caught was a Sea Trout/Kelp Greenling (kept it)

Though we didn’t catch many, we still had a good time being outdoors.
Now here’s the BAD NEWS, I dropped my DROID in the water! Dropping a phone is one of those things that always sat in my mind while fishing. I would always think how I’d go nutz if that ever happen to me! lol… I was pretty upset. I just had to close my eyes, take a few hundred deep deep breaths and just let it go. I remember seeing my phone slip out of my sweat shirts pocket in slow motion, then as it hit the rocks before the water everything went in fast motion. When this happens to people, they usually get crazy mad because all of their contacts are gone, but thank goodness for Android phones, all contacts are synced and stored in their Gmail. I was more mad that my pics where gone and that I did an unbelievable rookie move! So embarrassing…lol
I guess it’s time that I get a new phone. My DROID was pretty old and beat up. But that phone took so many good pics of all my food adventures that I’ve posted online. “Man, I’m gonna miss that phone!”
So here’s the scoop on Verizon. I called to see if they had a “refurbished” phone that I can buy for cheap. They do have them but not too many on the Android phones. Did you know that if you were to buy any “refurbished” phone Verizon will put you on a new 2-year contract? lol… Talking with the Verizon rep, I asked what was the next “big thing” that’s coming out. It’s called the HTC Thunderbolt. It’s suppose to come out towards the end of February. Now you know what I’m getting! Check out the overview/specs and you’ll see why I’m getting this!
For now, I’m about to roll out my old XV 6800 and use it until the HTC Thunderbolt comes out.
“Any suggestions on other phones? Comment below!”
